Four Questions with Spring Intern Bethany Kula
Please welcome Bethany Kula to the Dala Communications team!
Bethany starts this month as our 2021 (virtual) spring intern. She’s currently a sophomore at Baylor University in Waco, pursuing a journalism major and business administration minor.
What do you like about PR?
“I’ve grown up in the PR world because each parent has been in the profession for more than 30 years. I’ve enjoyed helping them with editing, writing, and events. I like to write because it’s a great form of creative expression, and I like telling a story with my words.”
What’s a fun fact about you?
“As a youth, I won 13 hula hoop competitions, winning prizes along the way.”
What are the biggest takeaways you want to get from this internship?
“I really like the event-planning side of PR, so I hope to gain more experience in that area. I also want to learn how a PR firm is run and improve my writing skills. Excited to add writing projects to my portfolio, so I can continue to prepare for my future.”
What have you learned about yourself attending college during a pandemic?
“When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March, most classes and events were moved online, which made learning a bit of a challenge. I do miss in-person classes, but I’ve adapted well to Zoom and learned to pace myself. I’ve learned how to better organize my time, which will help me immensely during this internship and my career.”
