CHAN CELEBRATES "DALAVERSARY"

Happy Dalaversary to our Account Executive, Ashley (Mungiguerra) Chan! We spoke with Ashley about her time at Dala, how she got her start in public relations, and what’s next.  

How did you find your way to Dala?

I earned my bachelor’s degree in journalism, but before graduation decided I wanted to shift to public relations! I worked at a few different agencies, along with working in marketing for a bit to learn about a new side of communications before coming back to the agency life with Dala. Two years later and it was a great decision!

What advice do you have for people growing in their careers right now?

Be flexible! I think we’ve all learned that to some degree over the last two years; shortly after I started at Dala, we shifted to work-from-home, but I was able to keep working with clients, whether that meant overhauling their PR plans for the year or continuing the cadence of news with a few adjustments. When the world is in flux, you have to be able to put your head down and do the work to service your clients, whether that’s at home or in the office. If I have learned anything in the past two years, it’s how to adjust my strategy to meet each client’s needs.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I’m excited to see what this year brings not only for Dala but for our clients. I have lots of exciting projects coming up, from construction to commercial real estate to development to education. I love being able to jump between industries and work on PR from all sides.
